Meet the Team
Noor Siddiqi, Founder
As a partner of a successful law firm, the joy you get from winning a case in court is indeed immense, but the joy you get in helping others through charitable means is incomparable. Helping those who are less fortunate without a desire to receive anything in return except a smile, fills me with tremendous energy and enthusiasm to help even more.
I do believe that giving back is a way of thanking God for all the blessings he bestows upon us.
The charity has been a lifelong dream of mine – it’s from the people for the people. As a strong advocate for changing the way people think about poverty, I am committed to unite people, help end hunger and provide a better future for those in need.
In my spare time I enjoy swimming, running and spending quality time with family and friends.
Jagtar Singh Junday, Board Member
I am a Chartered Engineer and enjoy doing seva (helping others) which is a very important part of Sikhism.
I’m excited that I can strengthen aspects of Sikh teachings through the charity, such as being generous, compassionate and treating people equally, all of which help make a difference to people’s lives and are essential to live a good and peaceful life.
My hobbies include reading, cycling and DIY jobs around the house. I also enjoy helping students by assisting teachers during their design technology and engineering classes.
Tina Junday, Media Manager
Having worked as a journalist in the UK and more recently in the Middle East, I’ve seen first-hand the acute hunger among our communities and the growing necessity of food banks.
It has motivated me to do all I can to support the plight of people who need our help, spread our message of unity and positive thoughts, and inspire others to come forward and contribute, whether it’s fundraising ideas, volunteering or a donation.
On weekends, I enjoy going to the gym, watching movies, theatre shows and having dinner with friends.
Azeem Suleman, IT Manager
With over 17 years of experience as a Web Manager/Designer, I am using my skills to help Unite in Virtue. Digital media is opening new opportunities for us to engage and communicate with more larger and diverse audiences.
With over 20 years of experience working with charities nationally and internationally (management, fundraising, marketing, communications, campaigns, charity events and charity dinners) I use my skills helping Unite In Virtue with its projects.
I am a people’s person, working with all ages and backgrounds. I have worked on small projects such as street cleaning to large projects such as ‘Smiles Better’ with other charities supported by Katie Piper and endorsed by Princess Anne.
So using my skills and experience I am proud to be part of the Management Team of Unite In Virtue. Trying my best to serve the creator by serving his creation.
In my spare time I enjoy playing football, helping people and spending quality time with family.
Nicky Junday, Fundraising Manager
Whilst my key passion involves working with numbers as an energy analyst, my greatest rewards in life have come from helping those in need.
I fundraise for Unite in Virtue to raise awareness of the ever increasing problem the world is facing – homelessness.
I always try to incorporate my love of learning of culture and historic events, whilst generating funds for Unite in Virtue.
In my spare time I enjoy volunteering at our food bank(s), playing sports and improving my programming skills.
Shabana Ilyas, Head of Birmingham Food Bank
My role for Unite in Virtue involves a bit of cooking, delegating tasks, and distributing the food to the homeless – sounds pretty easy!
Even though I have a chaotic life with my three young kids, volunteering for Unite in Virtue is great as it invites us to step away from judging others and avoids the question and responsibility of choosing who deserves our help.
Put simply, we help lift the fallen, motivate, inspire and heal the less privileged.
